Rape Culture? What is this “Rape Culture” you speak of?
Seriously though, this is terrifying. God forbid I wear a skirt outside — I’m just ASKING to be raped if I do that. The 58% statistic actually terrifies me more than any other. Suddenly change the word and you don’t care?
No one will ever be able to convince me that words hold no power.
And that’s way higher than 8%, if you take “coercive behavior” into account. Then it’s up to 43% AT LEAST.
This is exactly why I called my blog “Real men do not rape”. Not as some understand it that not every man around the corner might be a rapist but to show that anybody who commits this crime cannot be called a real man any longer, he has lost the right to feel like a member of our society, no matter how many other men may think it might be ok to do it.
It’s more than sad to see these figures, it’s outraging.
This scares me >:
